Kroll, Mabel B. (28 July 1900 – 9 June 1979)

Funeral services were held this past Tuesday afternoon from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Neillsville, for Mabel B. Kroll, 78, who passed away last Saturday in Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. The Rev. Norman W. Lindloff of St. John’s officiated, with burial made in the Town of Lynn Cemetery. The Gesche Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Kroll, who resided at the time of her death at 22 State St. was boon on July 28, 1900, to John and May (Lehrman) Schier in Clark County. After her education, she lived with her parents, caring for them until their death. In 1923, she married in that are until his death in 1941, has continued to operate the farm for several years.

In 1953, she married Edward Kroll in Illinois ceremonies and the couple moved to the Town of York and farmed until their retirement in 1962. They then moved to Neillsville. Her second husband passed away in 1973. She was a member of St. Joh’s congregation and the Lynn Birthday Club.

Surviving her ae two sons, Eugene Tober of Granton and Merlin Tober of Fond du Lac; three stepsons, Ervin Kroll of Mineral Point, Wilmer Kroll of Rothschild and Merlyn Kroll of Neillsville; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Arnold (Eilene) Buchholz, Neillsville; one brother, Edward Schier, Marshfield; eleven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Besides her husbands, preceding her in death were two sons, Wilbur and Donald, and two children in infancy.

Kroll, Mabel B. (28 July 1900 - 9 June 1979)

With the Rev. Norman W. Lindloff officiating, Mabel B. Kroll’s funeral was held from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville on the afternoon of June 12. Burial was made in the Town of Lynn Cemetery. Mrs. Kroll, 78, passed away on June 9.

“The 23rd Psalm” and “I’m But a Stranger Here” were the musical selections sung by Kathy Quast, accompanied by Mrs. Melvin Nemitz.

John VandeBerg, Arnold and Norman Wesenberg, DeWayne Dux, Glenn Suckow, and Roger Grottke were the pallbearers. The Gesche Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Attending from out of town were Shirley Weber, Judy Meier, Irene Verhagen & daughters and Mr./Mrs. Gale Tober, of Rockford, Ill.; Ronald Meier and Mr./Mrs. Bill Harris, of Durand, Ill.; Mr./Mrs. Gary Tober, Byron, Ill.; Mr./Mrs. Bill Harris & sons, Durand; Mr./Mrs. Charles Shelton, Brodhead; Becky Tober, Oregon; and Flossie Harris, Westby.
