Schultz, Gladys (4 February 1917 – 31 July 1979)

Mrs. Clayton Schultz, 62, Greenwood, died Tuesday, July 31, in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where she was admitted July 9.

Mrs. Schultz, the former Gladys Stroud, was born February 4, 1917, in Rockford, Ill. She received her education in the Wisconsin Dells schools. She was married May 1, 1933, at Wisconsin Dells to Clayton Schultz. After their marriage they lived in Rockford. In 1963, they moved to Greenwood where they farmed.

Surviving her are her husband, her mother, Mrs. Nellie Stroud, Greenwood, five daughters, Mrs. Violet Sheveman of Rockford, Mrs. Lois Chilson of Greenwood, Mrs. Earl (Wilma) Tennant of Belvidere, Ill., Mrs. Eugene (Sandi) Coyle of Plainfield and Mrs. Duane (Diane) Schultze of Stratford, four sons, Clayton, Jr., of Rhinelander, Gordon of Belvidere, Larry of Loyal and Duane of Fremont, 28 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her father, Jesse Stroud.

Funeral services were held August 2, at the Grace United Methodist Church in Greenwood. The Rev. Donald Adams officiated, with burial in the Greenwood Cemetery. Gary Schultz was the soloist and was accompanied on the organ by Rochelle Schultz.

Pallbearers, all grandsons, were Shawn Coyle, Danny Schultz, Arnold Bravener, Mark Schultz, Merle Tennant and Larry Schultz, Jr. The Rinka Funeral Home of Greenwood was in charge of arrangements.
