County’s Volunteer Drivers Honored (2021)

The Clark County Department of Social Services held its volunteer driver training and recognition event on Sept. 23 at the Clark County Courthouse in Neillsville. Volunteer drivers provide medical transportation for county residents who are elderly or have disabilities. In 2020, volunteers provided 1,799 trips while logging 91,470 miles. Volunteer drivers, who are not compensated for their time, donated 3,657 hours. At the event, volunteers were recognized with a lunch and prizes, made possible through donations from area businesses. Tina Jerred, volunteer coordination and community outreach manager of the Fox Cities Victim Crisis Response Team, also provided training on boundaries and ethics as a volunteer and Clark County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Captain Wade Hebert led a question-and-answer session on rules of the road.
