Rowe, William R. “Billy” (6 June 1974 - ? October 1979)

The five-year-old son of Donald E. and Fern R. (Vine) Rowe died in his Rt. 1 Granton home following a lingering illness.

Born on June 6, 1974, in Neillsville, the boy’s survivors include one sister, Lori; one brother, Bradley; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Milford Rowe, Granton; and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Irving Vine, also of Granton.

A memorial service for William R. “Billy” Rowe was to be held Wednesday afternoon, October 31, from the York Center United Methodist Church, Town of York. Burial was to be made in the church cemetery with the Rev. Charles Sanford.

Rowe, William R. “Billy” (1974 - 1979)

Funeral services were held on October 31 for William R. “Billy” Rose, five-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Rowe, rural Granton, at the York Center United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Sanford officiating.

Private services were held at 10:00 a.m. with a memorial service in the church held at 2:00 p.m. “Trust and Obey” and “God Be With You” were the musical selections offered by Violet Mechelke and Donna Chase, accompanied by Margaret Paulson. Serving as pallbearers were Alvin Dahl, Robert Drescher, Victor Pagenkopf and Dick Oldham. Burial was made in the church cemetery and the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville was in charge of arrangements.

Attending the service were the deceased’s Godparents, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Ahlborn of Minocqua and other relatives and friends from Platteville, Stoughton, Woodruff, Marshfield, Chili, Neillsville and Loyal.
