St. Mary’s Czestochowa, rural Stanley, was the scene for the marriage ceremony for Janet Carol Lawcewicz and Maurice Carl Schirmacher on Saturday, July 14, 1973, with the double ring ceremony being performed at one p.m.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Lawcewicz, Thorp and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Schirmacher, Oshkosh.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a Regal elegance dress in angel’s king peau, styled with empire waist with full skirt and white satin ribbon pulled through the mandarin neckline. A long chapel train completed her ensemble, and she carried a bouquet of red sweetheart roses with white canations and a few pin and spider mums.

Miss Marlene Lawcewicz, sister of the bride, was maid of honor, and the bride’s friends, Mary Ann Kodl and Lynn McIquham, were bridesmaids. The maid of honor wore a pink dress made of crepe material with a floral print over the top from waist down, with long ties in back and carried a bouquet of pink mums and white streamers. The bridesmaids were dressed in green styled the same as the maid of honor, and they carried bouquets of green mums with white streamers. Each wore bows in their hair with little veils.

Miss Tracey Meyers, niece of the groom, was flower girl, and Dale Johnson, a friend, was ring bearer.

Donald McIquham was best man and groomsmen were: Stanley Lawcewicz, Dale Konieczny, and Rodney Lazara. Ushers were Bill Anderson and Daniel Schneider.

A reception and supper at 4:30 were held at the Legion Hall.

The bride, a graduate of Stanley-Boyd School and Eau Claire Technical Institute, is employed as a secretary with Walters Brewery. The groom is a graduate of Chippewa High School and is employed with Chippewa Valley Drywall.

After a wedding trip to Yellowstone Park, they will make their home on Route 4, Chippewa Falls.
