Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Lato of Gilman announce the engagement of their daughter, Susan Laura, to Michael Brian Robinson, son of Mr. And Mrs. Corlis Robinson, 110 North Elm Street, La Crescent, Minnesota.

Miss Lato is a junior at the University of Wisconsin, La Cross, and is employed in the university personnel office.

Her fiancé is a 1972 graduate of the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse, with a degree in mathematics. He is employed by Trane Company.

Plans are being made for an October 27, 1973 wedding in the Newman Center at the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse.

Lato, Susan (27 Oct 1973)

Susan Lato and Michael Robinson were united at noon on October 27, 1973 at the Newman Center in La Crosse.

Father James Lane officiated at the ceremony for the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley J. Lato of Gilman, Wisconsin, and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Corlis W. Robinson of La Crescent, Minn.

The ceremony was a combination of traditional and modern, with Charles Maple playing the organ and Tom Devine playing guitar, alternately. The bride and groom sang a love ballad before the wedding vows..

Diane Lato was her sister’s matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Jeanne Robinson, La Crescent, Minnesota, sister of the groom, and Mrs. Tom Kubala, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Patti Lato, sister of the bride,a nd Kathy Robinson, sister of the groom, were flower girls.

John Robins, La Crescent, Minnesota, brother of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Mike Bloyer, La Crosse, Wisconsin, and Tom Devine, La Crosse, Wisconsin. Guests were ushered by Wayn Lato, brother of the bride, and Steve Robinson, Madison, Wisconsin, brother of groom.

The bride appeared in a floor length gown of white Victorian styling with long train and a lace edged veil. She carried a bouquet of red roses and white carnations.

The attendants wore empire styled gowns of blue velvet and chiffon. The flower girls wore blue flowered gowns made by the groom’s sister. They carried bouquets of tinted blue roses and white carnations.

A dinner, reception and dance followed the ceremony at Concordia Hall in La Crosse.

The couple is planning a Christmas skiing honeymoon in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. They now reside on a farm outside La Crescent, Minnesota. The bride attended Gilman High School and the groom attended La Crescent High School. She is a secretary at the University of Wisconsin, La Cross, and also attends college as a junior there. The groom graduated from the UW-La Crosse in December of 1972 and now works as a sales assistant for Trane Company in La Crosse.
