Winkel, Raymond (10 March 1908 – 15 March 1980)
Raymond Winkel, 75, former chairman for the Town of Seif, died of an apparent
heart attack at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at his home in Loyal.
He was born March 10, 1908, to Mr. and Mrs. Louie Winkel, Kewanee, Illinois. He
married May 8, 1926, at Milwaukee to Emma Nagel. After marriage, he farmed in
the Town of Seif for 35 years, returning and moving to Loyal in 1970. He also
worked for Black River Campers and Plautz Bros. Besides serving as chairman for
Seif, he was a chairman for Clark County Health Care Center at Owen.
Surviving him are his wife’ one son, David, Granton, and Ellis, Laurel, Mont.; a
brother Leonard, Stevens Point; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, at the Rinka
Funeral Home in Loyal. The Rev. Alwyn York of Greenwood officiated. Burial was
made in the Colby Memorial Cemetery. The pallbearers were Louis Worchel, Robert
Seif, Walter Bredlow, Albert Haselow, Fred Timmler and Otto Holnbach.
