Foemmel, Forest August (28 August 1931 – 17 November 2021) With Flag

Forest August Foemmel, age 90, of Chili, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021.

Forest was born August 28, 1931, the son of August and Louise (Schilling) Foemmel in the Town of Fremont, Clark County. He graduated from Granton High School in 1949. On July 31, 1954, Forest was united in marriage with Jeanette Venzke at Grace Lutheran Church in Nasonville. He served in the US Army Reserves from 1955 to 1961. Having grown up on his parents’ farm, Forest began farming with his father following graduation in 1949 and was still helping his sons with harvest this fall.

Forest is survived by his four children: Daniel (Rhonda) Foemmel, Chili, Debra (Lyle) Kayhart, Granton, Kathleen (Dennis) Thome, Rose Hill, KS; and Timothy (Beth) Foemmel, Chili. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Violet Korth, Cambridge.

Forest was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and three sisters (one in infancy).

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Yolo Cemetery, Town of Fremont (Chili).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Calvary Bible Church, Awana Club, 300 S. Walnut Ave, Marshfield, WI 54449.
