Each year the Clark County Extension Homemakers Executive Board awards an achievement trophy to an outstanding club in the county.

The winner of the 1973 award is the Friendly Neighbors Club of the Thorp area. The president in 1973 was Mrs. Ella Hubbard.

Second place winner is the Hilltop Club of Neillsville, and first runner up is the Weston Club, which was last year’s trophy winner. The winner the previous year was the Starlite Club of Loyal.

The presentation of the 1973 award was made Saturday during the Homemakers Day at Thorp by Dorothy Bertz, county community development chairman.

Club receiving honorable mention were Maplewood, Starlite, Rainbow, Up and Coming, Young Village, Good Neighbors, Longwood, Pleasant Ridge and Town and Country.

The award is given to the club that demonstrates overall success in programming and community service.
