Mather, Leroy Charles (12 September 1937 – 18 December 2021)

Leroy Mather, age 84, of Neillsville, died Saturday, December 18, 2021, at the House of the Dove Hospice Home in Marshfield.

Leroy Charles Mather was born on September 12, 1937, in Burlington, the son of Charles John and Bernadette (King) Mather. He graduated from Burlington High School, and then worked on the family farm. On June 22, 1958, was united in marriage to Rosemary Marie Bender in Burlington. Leroy then worked as a self-employed home improvement specialist for 40 years, retiring in June of 1999. He was a hard-working man, and he was proud of the homes he built for his family during that time. After retiring, he and Rosemary moved to Neillsville.

Leroy was a member of the Burlington Sno Snoopers for 40 years. His fondest memories were the trips they would take to Florida with family and friends in their motorhome. He loved taking nature walks and 4-wheeling in the woods. He also liked snowmobiling, hunting, fishing and mowing the grass.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rosemary, three children, Dawn (Tyler) Schlickman of Durand, IL, Michael (Kristen) Mather of Hampton, NH and Timothy (Logan) Mather of Menomonie, six grandchildren, Jessica (Ryan) Reuterskoid, Jason Katzman, Cierra (Rudy) Evans, Cole Woolever, Lillianna Mather and Heinz Mather. Leroy is further survived by four siblings, Robert (Donna) Mather of Three Lakes, Jack (Sandy) Mather of Edgewood, IA, Ron Mather of Burlington, and Marlene Schilz of Lake Geneva. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Franklin Mather and Gene Mather.
