Samuelson, Gena (9 Jan 1902 – 29 Oct 1974)

Mrs. Gena Samuelson, age 72, of 320 Garfield St., Stanley, died Tuesday morning at Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley.

She was born January 9, 1902, in Wisconsin, the daughter of the late John and Anna Haugen. She came to the town of Worden with her parents when a young girl. On June 25, 1927, she married Selmer (Sam) Samuelson in Stanley. After their marriage, they farmed in the town of Worden until retiring and moved to Stanley, where Mrs. Samuelson had since lived.

Mrs. Samuelson was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Stanley.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Palmer (Patricia) Rimes, Beloit, and Mrs. Davil (Carolyn) Isenberger, Stanley; two brothers, Philip and Alvin Haugen, Stanley; three sisters, Miss Hilda Haugen, St. Paul, Minn., Miss Alice Haugen, Wausau, and Mrs. Charles (Selma) McGinnis, Plano, Ill; and three grandchildren, Jim and Julie Isenberger, Stanley, and Sheryl Rimes, Beloit.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Thursday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Stanley, with Rev. Norman L. Sifferath and Rev. Ron Gerl officiating. Burial was in the East Side Cemetery.
