Kaczmarczyk, Tom (1952? – 01 Dec 1974)

Word was received Sunday of the apparent drowning death of a 22-year-old Lublin man.

Tom Kaczmarczyk, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Kaczmarczyk, owners of the Bellinger Grocery Store, was reported missing when he was over swept by a wave while in Hawaii.

Kaczmarczyk had reportedly been visiting a brother in California, when he and a friend decided to travel to the islands.

The body has not been recovered.

A Mass will be held at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, for Tom in St. Mary’s Polish National Church.

Kaczmarczyk, Tom (19 Jan 1952 – 7 Dec 1974)

Thomas Kaczmarczyk, 22, route 2, Thorp, drowned while swimming Saturday, December 7, 1974 at Wamai Beach, Hawaii, where he was vacationing. His body was not recovered.

Born janu’ 19, 1952 at Stanley, he attended Lublin public schools and Gilman High School. He also attended UW-Stout at Menomonie before leaving this past summer to vacation in California and then Hawaii.

He was planning to return to Wisconsin to re-enroll at UW-Stout.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Kaczmarczyk, route 3, Thorp; three sisters, Mrs. James Mohr and Judy, both route 1, Stanley, and Karen, Oshkosh; three brothers, John, San Brano, California, Daniel and Brian at home; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Czerwinski, route 1, Lublin.

Memorial services were held at St. Mary’s Polish National Catholic Church at Lublin.
