Cooper, Virginia Lee (29 Sep 1973)

Father Francis Rushman officiated at the 1:30 p.m. nuptial rite Saturday, September 29, 1973 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby, when Jeffery L. Kilty claimed as his bride, Virginia Lee Cooper.

Parents of the newlyweds are Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Kilty, route 1, Unity, and Mr. and Mrs. John Cooper, route 1, Colby.

The bride appeared in an entrained gown, Edwardian style, of sheer Dacron polyester and Venice lace. Matching lace edged her veil, which fell from a Juliet cap. She carried a bouquet of yellow roses, white carnations, blue forget-me-nots and lily of the valley.

The bride’s attendants wore empire style gowns featuring solid bodices topping flocked sheer printed skirts and matching Juliet caps with small veils. A fall flower arrangement complemented their attire.

Attendants for the couple were Joey and Linda Kilty, brother and sister-in-law of the groom, and Lynn Seefeldt and Phil Frane, friends of the couple. Ushering the guests was Tom Gabriel.

The eighth grad choir sang, under the direction of Sister Louis Marie.

A reception and dance were held at Unity Memorial Hall in the evening.

They are both Colby High School graduates. The new Mrs. Kilty is a secretary for R&T at Spencer.

They are making their home at 405 W. Clark, Colby.
