Szuster, Maria (Sep 1889 – 04 Nov 1973)

Services were held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby for Maria Szuster, 84, who died Sunday at Colonial House of Colby from complications of old age. Rev. Francis Rushman officiated, and interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Lulloff Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Maria Szuster was born in Ukraine in September 1889. She was married there to John Szuster. She came to America in 1952 and resided with her daughter, Mrs. Gregory Lytwyn of Colby for the past 21 years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Surviving children are Olha (Mrs. Lytwyn) of Colby, Syshanic Szuster and Antonia Opalewych, both of Ukraine; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Her husband, two sons and two daughters preceded her in death, as did four brothers and two sisters.
