Zastrow, Julia (26 Aug 1891 – 5 Dec 1973)

Funeral services for Mrs. Julia Zastrow, 82, were held Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby, at 11 a.m. Rev. Francis Rushman officiated, and interment was made in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Mrs. Zastrow died Wednesday evening at the Marshfield Convalescent Center, complication of old age being the cause of her death. She was born at Bakerville on August 26, 1891, and received her education at Bakerville.

The former Julia Martin was married to William Zastrow at Evansville, Illinois. After their marriage the couple lived at Rozelville for a few years, and then moved to Riplinger, where they lived most of their life.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Colby and the Christian Mothers Association.

She was preceded in death by a son and her husband, who died November 2 of this year.

Surviving are two sons, Gilbert of Mosinee, and Hebert of Riplinger, and a daughter, Rita Bartelt of Burlington, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, a sister, Anna Merkel of Marshfield, and a brother, Bust Martin of King.
