Army Private Albert H. Cartwright, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Emil A. Cartwright, Route 2, Spencer, completed the eight-week basic field artillery (Cannoneer) course at the U.S. Army Field Artillery Training Center, T. Sill, Oklahoma.

During the course he learned the duties of a Howitzer or gun section crewman. He also received instruction in handling ammunition, setting fuses and preparing charges, communications and maintenance.
