Wicker, Gilbert (5 Oct 1911 – 5 Apr 1974)

Services were held Monday, April 8, 1974 at the Colby United Methodist Church for Gilbert Wicker. The Rev. Bervie A. Scott officiated, and interment was made in Colby Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Wicker died at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield on Friday, April 5, 1974, following a lingering illness.

He was born October 5, 1911 in the town of Hull, Marathon County, and received his education in Colby schools. He worked on his parent’s farm in the town of Hull and moved with them to Colby in 1946. He was then employed at Streckert Manufacturing Company, Abbotsford until 1971, when he suffered a stroke and became a resident of Colonial House of Colby.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father and two sisters.

Pallbearers were Morris Wicker, Harvey Meacham, Ray Binning, Richard Aderhold, Donald Patterson and Charles Hrdlicka.
