Strack, Donna V. (3 December 1935 – 11 July 2022)

Donna V. Strack, age 86, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2022, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus, Worcester, MA.

She was born on December 3, 1935, in Marshfield, to the late Raymond and Alma (Leffel) Bauman.

After graduating from high school, Donna was employed by Hefko Floral in Marshfield. Donna met the love of her life, Jerome “Jerry” Strack, and they were married on June 16, 1962, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Marshfield. Donna and Jerry purchased the Galstad Studio in Neillsville, in 1965 and ran it for 27 years as Strack Photography until their retirement from photography in 1992. After leaving Neillsville and moving to Sun Prairie, Donna eventually returned to the floral industry and worked as a designer for Felly’s Flowers and Garden Center until her retirement in 2004.

In September 2004, Donna and Jerry moved to Wisconsin Rapids, and became members of St. John Lutheran Church in Kellner. Donna was actively involved in the Ladies Aid, Church Council and Human Care Board. And for 13 years, she was St John’s lead seasonal decorator. In May 2022, due to Donna’s health concerns, she and Jerry decided to move to Massachusetts to be with family.

Donna is survived by her husband, Jerry Strack; daughter, Lisa MacLaughlin and son-in-law, Stephen MacLaughlin of West Brookfield, MA; grandchildren, Simon Vogel, Prescott Vogel, Lydia Vogel, Bethany Vogel, Marcella Vogel, Dietrich Vogel; brothers, James Bauman of Mosinee, and Dennis Bauman of Wisconsin Rapids, and sister, Barbara Hardinger of Beaver Dam.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Alma Bauman and by her brother, Arlyn Bauman. Ritchay Funeral Home is assisting the family.

A memorial service will be held at St. John Lutheran Church in Kellner, WI on Wednesday, August 24th, 2022, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Brian Roehborn officiating. A private burial will be held Thursday, August 25th, 2022, at Forest Hill Mausoleum in Wisconsin Rapids.
