Harwick, Josephine E. (1 December 1900 – 13 February 1982)

Josephine E. Harwick, 81, passed away in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, on Saturday morning, February 13. Mrs. Harwick was a long-time Town of Dewhurst resident.

Funeral services were held from the Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, on Tuesday afternoon, February 16, with burial in the Riverside Cemetery in Black River Falls. The Rev. William Noble of the United Methodist Church officiated, and pallbearers were grandsons Mark and Paul Harwick, Jan Bohac, Joe and Robert Bethea and Dan Germann.

The deceased was born on December 1, 1900, in Chicago to Frank and Antonie (Draplik) Bohac. As a young child, she moved to Wisconsin, receiving her education in Hatfield area schools. She then returned to Chicago where she worked until her July 22, 1928, marriage to Raymond Harwick, which was held in Neillsville. The couple then farmed in the Town of Dewhurst for many years. Her husband died on March 1, 1970. She continued to live on the farm.

Surviving her is one son, Charles, Marshfield, two daughters, Mrs. Virgil (Helen) Bohac of Merrillan and Geraldine Bethea of Neillsville; two-stepsons, Lloyd Harwick of Atlanta and another in Neillsville; and a sister, Otelia Antos, Ft. Charlotte, Florida; three brothers, Joseph Bohac of North Judson, Indiana, Charles Bohac of Chicago and B. H. Bohac of Merrillan; plus eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death besides her husband, by a son in infancy and a brother.
