Cadet Alan M. Becker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur J. Becker, Route 2, Colby, has been appointed a wing training sergeant in his unit at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado.

Cadet Becker, a member of the class of 1977, earned the honor for his leadership ability and academic standing. He has also been promoted to Cadet Senior Master Sergeant.

Assignment to this position will give him valuable job and leadership experience prior to becoming a commissioned officer.

Cadet Becker is a 1973 graduate of Colby High School.
