ABBOTSFORD - The eighth anniversary of the Abbotsford Nutrition Center was celebrated with a party recently at Green Vista in Abbotsford.

In reviewing the history of the center, it was noted that George Vetter, Green Vista administrator, and Noah Agillard, Neillsville's nutrition director, were instrumental in starting the program with 16 carry-out meals.

Kathryn Hansen, Abbotsford, was the first coordinator, followed by Dorothy Neidhold and Mabel Anderson.  Meals increased to 23, and now the center serves as many as 52 participants.

Mary Kittle also has served as coordinator, with the present one being Sarah Bates, Dorchester.

Also included in the celebration was a party for participants with October birthdays. They included Viola Miller, Josephine Movak, George Vetter, Lydia Abegglin, Herman Karstensen, Edward Rucks and Josephine Schmirler.
