Schoenemann Tombstone

This is evidentially the headstone of 2 brothers.
On one side of the stone this is what is engraved:
Carl H.
May 1, 1887 - October 17, 1911

The other side of the stone :

Edwin A.
May 2, 1889 - October 16, 1910
"Bear in mind the inscription is on the side of the stone - not on the back.
I wonder if diphtheria, scarlet fever, or something similar caused their death
at such a young age." Karen Sommers

The front of the headstone in engraved as Schoenemann.
