**The spreadsheets can contain a large amount of information and may take several minutes to display. This data was obtained from cemetery & family records, a walk-through, social security death indexes, the Clark Co., WI Internet Library, tombstone photos, obituaries and biographical sources. The accuracy of the data varies and may include errors. If you have additions or corrections, please contact us. If you tan not find a desired obituary in the ALHN database to verify the entry, you may wish to order a micro-film of a local newspaper from the time frame you are researching. The available newspapers tan be requested from the Wisconsin State Historical through your local library. Please consider submitting any newly acquired items to the ALHN Records Board. If you have a bit of extra time, why not type a few unrelated items as a random act of kindness to future researchers?

**Please note that there is no known map of the inhabitants of this cemetery. I have contacted the Village of Dorchester, the historian, and the funeral home. This cemetery has not been used recently.  What is presented here is transcribed to the best of my ability from the old tombstones. If anyone has any helpful resources, or corrections, please contact me.

Additional Notes

Thanks for the website - enjoyed.

The cemetery was abandoned for many years. My mother, Beaulah Mae (Jensen) Fischer, persuaded the Dorchester Village Board to take over care of the cemetery (mostly due to a law on the Wisconsin books required municipalities to take over abandoned cemeteries that she located and informed them about). My dad Melvin Leroy Fischer made, donated, and installed the cemetery sign you have a photo of on the website.  The cemetery was either donated or sold (there is a deed on record {Clark County Register of Deeds, Vol. 44 P. 100 showing a transaction for $30 - which may or may not have actually been paid) by the Norwegian Ev. Lutheran Church to my great-great on October 13, 1888. This property was owned by them and had a general store. It appears from the dates on tombstones that are earlier than this that the use as a graveyard predated the formal cemetery organization. The following names are two of the 15 children of A.F.F. and Huldah:

H. A. (Hannah Amelia) Jensen b. 22 Mar 1869, d. 29 Dec. 1884 Peter D. (Daniel) Jensen b.18 Oct 1876 d. 1 Sep 1905.  The parents had stipulated that a plot be set aside for them, but they were buried elsewhere.  The middle name of H. A. came from Amelia, A. F. F.'s twin sister who was named Flora Eleanora Amelia. (she was always known as Amelia). Amelia and A. F. F. were born in Denmark and their Godmother was Karoline Amelia Prinzessin (Princess) von (of) Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg wife of (she was a princess in her own right, like Prince Charles is, and is incorrectly called Queen by many) Christian VIII King of Denmark Oldenburg. Frederik Prince of Denmark Ferdinand Oldenburg was Christian VII's brother, hence A.F.F.'s middle names. Peter Daniel was the name of A.F.F.'s father, which is where Peter D. got his name.  My mother has written a history of the cemeteries of Dorchester and currently resides at the Angelus Assisted Living Center in Colby Wisconsin. Her phone number is 715-223-6593 and would likely be glad to hear from one interested. I am her son Dan Rusch-Fischer
