Balch, Sadie (Marriage - 28 DEC 1898)

At the home of the bride's father, F. A. Balch, yesterday afternoon a pretty home wedding was solemnized, whereby two of Neillsville's young people were bound together in the bonds of holy wedlock, "for weal Or woe, till death do they part," in the presence of the immediate relatives and a select number of intimate friends. Mr. Julius Sontag and Miss Sadie Balch were the contracting parties.

At precisely 2:20 p.m., to the strains of the wedding march, played by Mrs. Rella Balch, the wedding party, headed by the bride and groom, immediately followed the bridesmaids and groomsmen, entered the parlor, where, amidst a profusion of beautiful flowers and plants, Rev. T. Grafton Owen performed the ceremony which united two loving hearts.

Luncheon was served to the party immediately after the ceremony, and carriages conveyed them to the depot where they boarded the 4:37 train, amid a shower of rice, and assisted upon their wedding journey to St. Paul by numerous baby shoes, slippers, etc., which their friends managed to slip in the groom's pockets, and in the passenger coach seat.

The couple was attended by Misses Frankie Brown, Sybil Wells and Bessie Kennedy as bridesmaids and Messrs. Geo. Sontag, Frank Burnett and Will Sontag as groomsmen.

Both bride and groom are too well known in Neillsville, Clark County people to need an introduction and their acre of friends wish them God speed upon the matrimonial sea and may they be blessed with happiness unalloyed.

Mr. and Mrs. Sontag will tour for a few days, after which they will be "at home" at Altoona, where the groom has already prepared a home.
