Raymond, Marie (Marriage – 8 OCT 1907)

The residence of Mr. and Mrs. O.S. Raymond in this city (Neillsville, Clark County) was the scene of a very pretty home wedding Tuesday morning, Oct. 8, 1907, when their daughter Miss Marie Raymond was united in marriage with Mr. Forest Brown. Only immediate relatives and a few intimate outside friends were present. The bride wore a dress of cram silk trimmed with insertion and lace and carried cream and pink roses; the groom as is usual wore black. They took their place unattended, before the officiating clergyman, Rev. Albert R. Rice, to the strains of Mendelssohn’s wedding march played by Miss Grace Harriman, where the solemn and impressive service was observed, which made the into man and wife.

The rooms were most appropriately decorated with smilax, carnations and autumn leaves. The beauty of the day, and the gorgeous coloring of the hills and trees made a fit setting for the scene of this happy event. It is with genuine pleasure that one can view the union of two young people such as the bride and groom, a couple of whom this community may well be proud. The groom who is the son of Mrs. Henry Brown, was brought up here, and while he now holds a good permanent position in the C. St. P.M. and O. office in Minneapolis, we still consider him a Neillsville, Clark County boy. The bride deserves all the compliments she has received on every hand. She worked in the Neillsville post office for the past two years and is known to every one for miles around for her courtesy and competence. They took the 11:33 train for Chicago and will visit, Denver, Salt Lake City and Omaha before returning to their home in Minneapolis. We wish them the real success in life they deserve.
