Neff, Alberta E. (Marriage – 10 DEC 1907)

One of the prettiest weddings of the season occurred Tuesday, Dec. 10, 1907, at the residence of Dorr A. Neff in the town of Levis, when his eldest daughter, Alberta Edna, was married to Walter A. Proctor, of Minneapolis. The bride has lived here (Neillsville, Clark County) from childhood, and a host of friends join us in wishing the young couple the best that life has to give.

Mr. Proctor is a successful business man, who has certainly shown both good taste and excellent judgment in selecting so accomplished and charming a girl for his wife; and while we regret to lose her from our midst, we fell sure that our loss is his gain. We congratulate him most heartily, and we hope that his future visits to Neillsville may not be so exclusively confined to one family. Rev. A.V. Ingham, of Eau Claire, performed the ceremony in the presence of the immediate relatives and friends of the family. Miss Grace Harriman, of Neillsville, was bridesmaid. She wore a gown of pale blue eolienne and carried white carnations. Mr. Oscar Symonds of Minneapolis was best man and while he took admirable care of the groom, he could not protect him from some of the inconveniences of the occasion, such as showers of rice and old shoes. Miss Adelaide Proctor of Columbus, Wis., sister of the groom, played the wedding march.

The house was charmingly decorated in the Christmas colors of holly, poinsettias and smilax. The bride wore orange blossoms sent from Pasadena and her gown was cream white silk, hand embroidered.

The out of town guests were Mr. Proctor, Misses Clara and Adelaide Proctor, Mr. S.W. Anderson of Columbus, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. John Proctor of Minneapolis, relatives of the groom, Mr. Forest Brown, Mr. O.F. Symonds, Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Holliday of Minneapolis, and Miss Gladys Neff of Macalister College, sister of the bride, came down to assist at the wedding.

The bridal party left on the afternoon train for an eastern trip. They will spend the winter in Western Canada, where Mr. Proctor has business interests, but their future home will be in Minneapolis.
