Measles has made it appearance at Loyal and now we expect to have a full run of that disease. Congestion of the lungs still prevails to considerable extent. A family by the name of Schwarze (Herman & Christina’s children) northwest of town, have five children down with this dreaded disease. Dr. Thomas reports most of these cases convalescent. The doctor has been very successful; in fact, so far as we know, has not lost a single case of either diphtheria or congestion this winter, and he has had a great many cases to treat.

We are pleased to see William Campbell, of Neillsville, on our streets last Saturday. He was accompanied by Mr. Jones, of New York, a boot and shoe man. We understand that Mr. Warner made a very large investment.

Frank, the butcher, says he don’t care whether it freezes or thaws. He has at least fifty tons of the best beef ever dressed in Clark County, which he can and will keep until he gets his price. By the way, Frank is one of the neatest and best butchers in the county.

Quarterly meeting announced to take place last Saturday and Sunday has been postponed two weeks. We hope to see a good attendance. Snow, snow, snow, and still snowing. It is well just what we need. Who ever saw finer weather for logging? It is estimated by good judges that more logs have been put in already than any one winter for number of years. Just think of it, two more months of the best part of the log harvest is yet to come. Good times ahead, and don’t you forget it.

Weston & Schofield’s store is being rapidly filled with new goods. Tom Philpott made an arrest last Saturday at Spencer, of a man supposed to be a party connected with the Bebl murder case. The whole case at present writing seems to be wrapped in profound mystery, but "murder will out" and if Jacob Bebl is murdered, it matters not by whom, the guilty party will be found and punished.
