Surnames: KUEHN RIEDEL STEGER HARRIS Source: TRIBUNE-RECORD-GLEANER (Loyal, Clark Co., Wis.) 08/28/2002 Kuehn, Roger (13 MAY 1935 – 20 AUG 2002) Roger Kuehn, 67, Granton, died on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2002, at his home. Memorial services were held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, Aug. 28, at the Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville. The Rev. John Trewyn of the Zion Lutheran Church, Granton, officiated. Music was provided by Eileen Zank, organist. Burial was in the Windfall Cemetery, Granton. Honorary pallbearers were Kevin Harris, Bradley Kuehn, David Kuehn, Dennis Kuehn, Joseph Kuehn, Lester Kuehn Jr. and Ricky Kuehn. Roger Franklin Kuehn was born on May 13, 1935, in Granton, to Harry and Hilda (nee Riedel) Kuehn. He attended Cunningham Grade School in Granton. He enlisted in the Armed Forces, serving from 1953-58 in Germany. He married Erna Steger on March 3, 1956, in Heidelberg, Germany. They moved back to the United States in 1957. In the spring of 1964, they returned to Germany to care for Erna’s father. They returned to the United States in 1981. His work involved erecting communication towers for ITT all over the world, including Turkey, Iceland, Antarctica and Italy. His interests included golf and gardening. Survivors include his wife, Erna; a daughter, Hannelore, Granton; two brothers, Gerald (Donna) Kuehn, Granton, and Russell (Sharon) Kuehn, Granton; one sister, Darlene Harris, Granton; a sister-in-law, Arlene Kuehn, Neillsville; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, and one brother, Lester. The Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, assisted the family with arrangements. |
