Crandall, Hazel (Marriage – 21 DEC 1912)

Saturday evening, Dec. 21st, 1912, Mr. Will D. Wood and Miss Hazel Crandall were united in marriage at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. N.E. Crandall, Rev. H. A. Risser officiating. The groom was attended by his brother Fred, from Appleton, and Miss Jessie Dwyer was bridesmaid. A large gathering of relatives and friends were present, and after the ceremony a supper of rare excellence was served. Many fine presents were given.

The groom, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Wood, may almost be considered a Neillsville, Clark County young man, coming here as a small boy when his father took charge of our schools. He grew to manhood here, attended school and later took a business course. For some time past he has had a position in the office of John S. Owen Lumber Co. at Owen, Clark Co. Some indication of the esteem in which he is held is indicated by the generous remembrance he received from the Company and his fellows in the office force before his marriage.

The bride was born and brought up here, graduated from the high school and became a successful teacher. Her rare personal beauty is the outward type of her intelligence and high womanly qualities.

The young couple took the midnight train for Chicago for a short visit. They will return to Appleton to be at the home of the groom’s parents for Christmas, and will begin housekeeping soon at Owen. We join with many in best wishes for their happiness.

Among the out of town guests at the wedding were Prof. L. W. Wood and son Fred, of Appleton, Mr. and Mrs. Brown, their son Neal and a daughter of Norwalk, Mr. and Mrs. Clark Paynter, their sons Glen and Howard, and daughter Esther, of Waunakee, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Crandall and sons Theodore and Douglas, of Granton.
