Obituary of Mrs. Good

Mrs. W. B. Good died suddenly at her home in Chetek Tuesday evening of last week. A heart attack was the cause of death. Her relatives and friends were greatly shocked by her passing away.

Funeral services were held at Chetek Friday afternoon, and the remains were brought here Sunday and services were held at the town hall, at 2:00 p.m., and were attended by a large congregation of relatives and friends. The Rev. W. T. Fensome, pastor of the Free Methodist church, of which denomination Mrs. Good had been for many years a faithful member, officiated. He used as a text for his sermon Ps. 116:15, "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints." The songs were by Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Waters, and Miss Simons pianist. Burial was in the family lot in the Curtis cemetery in Garden Valley.

Laura Stroup was born in Jackson county, Wisconsin, Dec. 20, 1867, and departed this life May 26, 1942, at Chetek, Wisconsin, attaining the age of 74 years, 5 months and 6 days.

She was united in marriage to Ephraim A. Pickett on March 10, 1886 at Humbird, Wisconsin. To this union were born eight children, three of whom preceded her in death. Mr. and Mrs. Pickett resided on a farm in Garden Valley until about twenty years ago, when they moved to Chetek. Mr. Pickett passed away in 1930.

On Jan. 9, 1941, Mrs. Pickett and the Rev. W. B. Good were united in marriage at Chetek.

She leaves to mourn their loss, her husband; five children: Clayton, of Black River Falls, Jay and Perle, of Humbird, Mrs. Grace Billerback, of Joseph, Oregon, and Mrs. Viola Tallman, of Seattle, Wash.; one brother in North Dakota, and one sister in LaGrange, Oregon; and many other relatives and friends.
