Friends of Hazel Ladd of Centralia, Wash., will be greatly shocked to learn of her sudden death, which occurred Saturday, August 26, 1922. She was apparently in good health at her usual work on Thursday at the Superior Café. She was taken sick on Friday and died Saturday morning at 8:30 on her way to the hospital. Mrs. Ladd was born in Neillsville Sept. 8, 1889. In 1907 they came to La Center, Wash., lived there for three years and them moved to Centralia and lived there until the time of her death. She leave to mourn her death, her husband, Archie Ladd, two children, Lola Marie and Jay P. Ladd, her father, Sam Shoop of Astoria, Ore., one brother, Archie Shoop of Portland, Ore., her aged grandmother, Mrs. Susan Shoop, of Spokane, Wash.

--------In memory of Hazel Ladd

A dear one has left our circle, A chair that can never be filled, The girl we though to much of Her voice forever in stilled.

Oh death, why hast thou taken, One we held so dear; A hand that was always willing, A heart that was ready to cheer.

We shall miss you Hazel, In the future coming days, But we have left to remember, Your loving, happy ways.

We shall toil and labor onward, Still our hearts shall be oppressed, But we hope to meet you, Hazel In the happy home of Rest. --M.B.
