Bio: Heagle, Alexander Roy
I don't know a whole lot about the Heagle family, but will share what I have found out. I'm not related but have run across this family many times in my own research and am submitting this information because some of the family members are buried in the East Thorp village cemetery. I first learned of the Heagle's through that obituary of my great grandfather's. Then after doing more digging around their name just kept popping up. I found them mentioned in the following: Reminiscences & anecdotes of early Taylor county, by Arthur J. Latton: page 187 Gilman; " John P. Miller came 1907." next paragraph: "Miller's dam was built to store water to drive logs on Yellow river. Albert Nichols, J. P. Miller and Levi Walker took part in some of these early log drives. page 188; " The first band consisted of Steve Kapsuzkiewwicz, A. R. Heagle, Wm. Kapsuzkiewwicz, A. R. George, Anson Heagle, J. P. Miller, A. Kolpack, John Kapsuzkiewwicz, Jos. Plotterer, Adam Adler and the leader P. W. Justman. Geo Murphy, A. Miller and Frank Plecity were also members. A. R. Heagle is Alexander Roy Heagle born 16 April 1881 possibly in Outagamie County Wisconsin to James (b. Jun 1841 Canada) and Elizabeth (b. May 1843 Canada) Heagle. Roy was the second to last child out of nine known children; Emily (1865), Samantha (1866), Edward (1868), Clara (1869), William (1871), Anson (1872), Alice (1877) and Myrtle (1884). He Married Mabel Minard (daughter of Henry J. and Eva Minard; born Jul 1883, possibly in Clark Co., Wisc). Roy and Mabel's children are Charles (1913), Gordon (1917), Edward (1919) and Ruth (1923). A. R. Heagle died January 1967 in Stanley, Chippewa Co., Wisconsin. |
