Thayer, Alva (7 AUG 1924)

The W. J. Thayer home was the scene of a pretty wedding at 2 o'clock last Week Thursday afternoon when they daughter, Miss Alva, was married to Mr. Ernest Muhlenhaupt of Milwaukee.

The bride, a charming young woman, was attired in a handsome gown of white georgette crepe trimmed with Spanish lace, entrain. She carried a shower bouquet of roses and wore a bridal veil of white tulle, banded with three bands of orange blossoms. Mr. Thayer gave his daughter away, and Rev. Wm. Walder of the M. E. Church pronounced the sacred words uniting the happy lovers.

Miss Ruth Pietenpol played the wedding march from Lohengrin, and Miss Marjorie Pietenpol sang a solo.

Miss Viola Muhlenhaupt, a sister of the groom and Thomas Kubal, a close friend of the bridal pair, came up from Milwaukee and acted as bridesmaid and groomsman.

The wedding, owing to the illness of the bride's brother, Perry Thayer, was a very quiet one, the guests being limited to relatives of the bridal pair. The bride is one of Granton, Clark County, Wisconsin's best loved girls. A fine intellect and much personal charm have made her a favorite here. Alva served during the World War as a Government stenographer in Washington, D. C., and for the last four years has done bookkeeping and stenographic work in Milwaukee. Her she met Mr. Muhlenhaupt, who has so fortunately won her for his bride.

May happiness and success always attend them.
