Imig, Louisa (31 Oct. 1850 - 25 May 1925)

Mrs. Louisa Imig passed away at her home in the city at 8:40 a.m., Thursday, May 25, after a very short illness.

Mrs. Imig, whose maiden name was Louisa Miller came from a family of eight children, three boys and five girls. One of her brothers preceded her in death about six weeks ago. She was born in Jefferson County, Wisconsin, Oct. 31, 1850, and grew to womanhood there, and on April 13, 1868, was married to Henry Imig at Fort Atkinson, Wis. They moved at once to a farm in the town of Oakland where they lived for thirty-three years. In March, 1901, they moved to Clark County, purchased the James Reddan farm north of town which was their home until 1914, when they moved to Neillsville and bought the Tolford home. April 13, 1918, the celebrated their golden wedding and three weeks later Mr. Imig passed away. Since that time Mrs. Imig lived alone.

She leaves four children, Mrs. S. H. Maxson of Oak Park, Ill., Charles H. who lives at Rudolph, Wis., and William and Arthur who live on the home farm north of Neillsville; she leaves also five grandchildren.

When quite young Mrs. Imig united with the German Lutheran church. She was a Christian woman, a tre mother, a helpful neighbor, and was faithful to every known duty. She was happy and contented and only the Sunday before she died she said: “ If heaven is better than this it will certainly be a fine place.” Of Mrs. Imig it may well be said: “ Well done good and faithful servant, thou has been faithful over few things, I will make thee ruler over many things; enter into the joy of they Lord.”

The funeral was held on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Congregational church, the pastor, G. W. Longenecker officiating.

Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral were Mr and Mrs. S. H. Maxson, Oak Park, Ill., Mr and Mrs. C. H. Imig of Rudolph, Wis.; their daughter, Mrs. Earl Olson of Arpin; Peter Miller and Mrs. Pfeiffer of Fort Atkinson; Mr and Mrs. J. C. Imig, and Mr and Mrs. J. B. Imig and Mrs. David Korhn, all of Waukesha.
