Mr. Verlyn F. Sears and Miss Mary Elsie MacHodgson were married at the M.E. Church in Mazomanie, Wis., Wednesday, June 24, Rev. Frank Prucia officiating. The groom was attended by Mr. Marvin Schaar, a university friend, now engaged in Agricultural work in Illinois. The bridesmaid was Miss Agnes MacHodgson, a sister of the bride. The church was nearly filled with guests, mostly relatives and close friends of the bride and groom; after the ceremony a reception, was held at the home of the bride’s father, Mr. Richard MacHodgson, in Mazomanie.

The groom is the oldest son of Mr and Mrs. Fred Sears of the town of Levis. He grew to manhood on the home farm, graduated from Neillsville high school in the class of 1916, and from the Long Course in Agriculture of the State University in 1924. In addition to his home experience and his university training, he had two years experience on large stock farms, temporarily dropping his university work to take these positions. He is now foreman on the Fern Dell Farm near Green Bay. He is a young man of outstanding ability and character, capable, trustworthy and has a faculty of making friends and winning the confidence of all who know him.

The bride is a graduate of the Home Economics Department of the State University. Since her graduation she taught Home Economics one year in Milwaukee, and the past two years in her home town. All who know her speak highly of her fine womanly qualities as well as her capabilities for the duties of a home for which her education and training have so admirably fitted her.

The young couple left for a few days auto trip through the state; they arrived here Friday for a short visit at the home of the groom’s parents, going on to Green Bay, where they will be at home on Fern Dell Farm after July 15. The Press joins their many friends in offering congratulations and in expressing the hope that to these young people who have so well equipped themselves for usefulness in the world may come all the happiness and prosperity which unquestionably is their just due.
