Obit: Dickinson, Nettie (? -1925)
Surnames: Dickinson, Montgomery, Hickcox, Longenecker Source: Neillsville Press (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) Thursday, 09/24/1925 Dickinson, Nettie (? - 16 Sept. 1925) Mrs. Richard Dickinson died at Shawnee, Oklahoma, September 16, 1925. She has apparently been in good health until September 14, when she was stricken with paralysis and did not regain consciousness, but lived until the 16th. Nettie Montgomery, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Edwin Montgomery was born at Hebron, Jefferson County, Wisconsin, received her early education there, and came to Clark County with her parents about 25 years ago. She taught successfully in the schools of this county for several years, and went to Utah where she engaged in teaching. She was married at Salt Lake City to Richard Dickinson, Nov. 29, 1905. She leaves to mourn her death her husband and three children, Grace, aged 17, Dick 14 and Dorothy 9. She leaves also her father and mother, residing in this city, two brothers, Ralph of Neillsville and Paul in Milwaukee and one sister, Mrs. O. I. Hickcox of Hudson. Mrs. Dickinson was a woman of the finest qualities of mind and heart. She will be remembered here by her old friends and former pupils as a faithful and conscientious worker for the good of those about her, and her seemingly too early death has brought to her home a loss that is beyond expression. The remains were brought here for burial, accompanied by Mr. Dickinson, the funeral being held Saturday at the Congregational Church Saturday, Rev. Longenecker officiating. Those from a distance attending the funeral were Kent Dickinson of Sparta and Mr and Mrs. O. I. Hickcox of Hudson. |
