Machgan, Henrietta (25 Nov. 1854 - 27 Oct. 1925)

Mrs. Machagan died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Kronberger on Tuesday morning, Oct. 27th, at the age of 70 years and 11 months. Mrs. Carl Machgan, nee Henrietta Strelow, was born Nov. 25th, 1854, at Coerlin, Germany married Carl Machgan in 1873. 8 children were born to this union, four of whom preceded her in death. In the year 1889 Mr and Mrs. Machgan came to America, settling in St. Paul and later moving to Ft. Atkinson. While at the latter place, deceased joined the Lutheran Church at Ft. Atkinson and later became a member at Loyal. She appreciated God’s word and was a faithful wife and mother and will be missed in the home and by a large circle of friends. Mr. Machgan died in 1913. For the past 10 years she had made her home with Mr and Mrs. John Kronberger. She is survived by four children; Mrs. John Kronberger of Spokeville, Mrs. Geo. Kronberger of York, Mrs. Frank Canes of Ft. Atkinson, Mr. Fred Machgan of Ft. Atkinson, and a sister, Mrs. William Dollase of Neillsville, and by 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild. The funeral was held at the local Lutheran church on Thursday afternoon, at 2 o’clock, Rev. Pohlman officiating.
