Gilson, Katye (17 March 1883 - 12 Dec. 1925)

Katye Gilson was born March 17, 1883, at Pleasant Ridge, Wis., and died Dec. 12, 1925, at Ontonagon, Mich., of heart trouble, and after effects of the flu.

She lived at Pleasant Ridge until about 16 years of age, then moved to Lac du Flambeau with her parents. She was married to Peter Gilson Jan. 6, 1904, at that place and they moved to Granton in 1907, where they live a couple of years and them moved back to Lac du Flambeau. In 1912 they moved to Ontonagon, Mich., where she lived until the time of her death.

Two daughters were born to this union, on dying at the age of 10 months at Granton, and one daughter Elsie, remains to comfort her father. She also leaves to mourn her death, her mother and father, Mr and Mrs. Wm. Selves, one sister, Mrs. Chas. Cator, and one brother, Leigh Selves of Iron Belt, Wis.

The remains arrived here Tuesday of last week and were taken to the home of Mr and Mrs. Nick Scherer and the funeral was held Wednesday afternoon from the Methodist church, of which Mrs. Gilson was a faithful member, Rev. S. J. Lambright officiating.

Those who came with the remains were the husband, Peter Gilson, and daughter, Elsie, Mr and Mrs. Wm. Selves of Lac du Flambeau, Mrs. Chas. Cator and Mrs. Fred Richardson of Minocqua, Wis., Wesley Hanks of Hurley, Wis., and Thomas Selves of Colby, also attended the funeral.
