Surnames: WASSERBERGER POOLE Source: NEILLSVILLE PRESS (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) 10/27/1927 Poole, Gladys (22 OCT 1927) Mr. George Wasserberger, formerly of Neillsville, Clark County, Wis., and Miss Gladys Poole of Holly, Mich., were married in the groom's own home at Pontiac, Mich. Saturday evening, Oct. 22, 1927, Rev. Jacobson of the Baptist Church of Pontiac, officiating. About 35 relatives and friends were in attendance and a fine supper was served after the ceremony. The groom was born and brought up in Neillsville, being the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Wasserberger. He graduated from Neillsville High School in the class of 1916, having taken a prominent part in all of the school activities during his course. He picked up considerable skill as a printer and worked for a time in the Deutsch Amerikaner office, having charge of the plant. Later he took a course in Journalism at Valparaiso Univ. and secured a position as teacher of Publicity in Pontiac, Mich., High School, a position he held for five years. While home for a vacation in the summer of 1926 he was a member of the Neillsville Press force, his knowledge of both printing and journalism making him most efficient in all his work. This year he resigned his position in the Pontiac Schools to become manager of a branch of Birmingham Eccentric Publishing Co., established at Pontiac. The bride is a stranger to most people here, but was a caller in Neillsville the past summer and all who met her were much impressed by her fine personality. She is a teacher of successful experience. Harry Wasserberger, a brother of the groom, attended the wedding. |
