Crocker, Helen (23 JAN 1928)

Miss Helen Crocker of Neillsville, Clark County, Wis., and Dr. R. B. Washburn of Augusta, were united in marriage in Chicago at 4:30 o'clock Monday afternoon, Jan. 23, 1928. The ceremony took place at the home of the bride's brother, Frank A Crocker, 1831 South Side Drive, Chicago. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. E. E. Crocker of Neillsville. She has lived here all her life and has a wide circle of friends, both in a social and business way. She graduated from Neillsville High School and taught in rural schools for a year and then took up clerical work. For a time she had a position in the Register of Deeds office and later became Secretary for the County Commissioner of Highways. Her thorough-going efficiency and courtesy made her a most valuable assistant in the highway department. Her helpfulness at home was also an indication of her fine qualities. Socially she has taken an active part along certain lines, especially in her work in the Eastern Star, whose work locally she has advanced consistently either as an officer or worker.

The groom is a dentist with an active practice at Augusta. He was born in Tomah and graduated from high school there, and after graduation from Dental College began practice at Fairchild, moving soon after to Augusta. He is a man of fine personality, fond of active outdoor sports and much liked by all who know him.

After the honeymoon, which will be spent in Chicago, Dr. and Mrs. Washburn will be at home in Augusta.

The Press joins with a host of other friends in Neillsville and throughout all of Clark County in wishing them a happy and successful life.
