Bradley, Lyrena (1 AUG 1928)

A very pretty wedding took place on Aug. 1, 1928 at the Eng. Lutheran Parsonage at Oshkosh, when Miss Lyrena Bradley of Auroraville, was united in marriage to Carl W. Handke of Granton, Clark County, Wis. The Rev. E. Koch performed the ceremony, using the ring service. The bride wore a powder blue georgette crepe dress and carried a bouquet of blue and white flowers. She was attended by her niece, Miss Dorothy Duncan of Oshkosh, who wore a pale green georgette crepe and wore a corsage of sweet peas. The groom wore a dark blue suit and was attended by his brother Walter Handke, who also wore a dark suit. Returning to the bride's home a fine wedding dinner was served to relatives. In the evening a reception was held. The rooms were prettily decorated in blue and white.

The bride is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Bradley, attended and graduated from the Stevens Point Normal School. Mrs. Handke has a pleasing personality and hosts of friends.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Handke of the town of York, Clark County, Wis., grew to manhood there, graduated from Granton High School and Stevens Point Normal, and has successfully taught at Gordon, Douglas County High School three years.

After a short wedding trip to Illinois and southern Wisconsin, the young couple will reside at Gordon, where the groom will teach the coming year. The couple's many friends wish them much happiness and prosperity.
