Baer, Helene (22 AUG 1928)

A pretty early autumn wedding took place on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 1928, when Miss Helene Baer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Baer, was married to Mr. Robert Zinn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Zinn of East Troy.

The ceremony took place in St. Luke's Episcopal Church at nine a.m., with Rev. F. W. Taylor of Owen, Clark County, Wis. reading the service. The church was decorated with baskets of yellow and white autumn flowers and candles.

The bride wore a white georgette gown trimmed with chantilly lace and a tulle and lace veil, which was caught with orange blossoms. She carried an arm bouquet of salmon roses and swansonia, also a white prayer book. A diamond pendant, a gift of the groom, was her only ornament. The maid of honor was Miss Charline Zinn, sister of the groom. She wore a yellow chiffon gown with uneven hem and a picture hat of white georgette. Mrs. W. Lyman Smith, Jr., a friend of the bride, was matron of honor and her costume was of green chiffon and lace. She too wore a white picture hat. Both attendants carried arm bouquets of pink roses and yellow snapdragons.

Mr. Harold Zinn, brother of the groom, was best man.

The ring bearer was De Witt Selvig, a cousin of the bride. Miss Patricia Rodolf acted as flower girl and carried a basket of autumn flowers. The ushers were Mr. Cyrus Thomas, a cousin of the bride, and Mr. Melvin D. Ure.

Mrs. Jesse Scott played Mendelsohn's wedding march, and after the ceremony, Mrs. W. J. Krause sang "Until", accompanied by Mrs. Scott. The bride was given by her father.

A wedding breakfast was served to forty guests at the home of the bride's parents. A color scheme of yellow and white was prettily carried out. The waitresses were the Miss Mary Neverman, Jean Campman, Ruth Zimmerman and Ethel Thomas.

Miss Baer attended Milwaukee Downer College and graduated from the state university, where she was a member of Phi Omega Pi Sorority. Since graduating she has taught history in Peckham Junior High School in Milwaukee.

Mr. Zinn graduated from the University of Wisconsin. He is a member of Alpha Chi Sigma, Tau Beta Pi, Phi Mu Alpha and Phi Kappa Phi.

Mr. Zinn is a chemical engineer, now doing research work for the Victor Chemical Co. of Chicago.

During his University course he has been one of the most popular students, standing high in his scholastic work, and entering actively into the social and fraternal life of the University. He is a young man of sterling character, fine appearance and pleasing manners.

The couple is motoring to Northern Wisconsin and Minnesota, and will be at home Oct. 1st in Chicago Heights, Ill.

The out of town guests included: Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Zinn, Miss Charline Zinn, Harold Zinn, Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Randolph, Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Zinn and son Charles, all of East Troy; Mr. and Mrs. E. Redeman and daughters, Betty and Marian of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hater of Waukesha; Mr. and Mrs. C. D.
