Surnames: LEE BUSH HUBBELL LINDSAY WOODWARD Source: NEILLSVILLE PRESS (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) 06/13/1929 Lee, Harriet (27 JUL 1859 - 7 JUN 1929) Mrs. Harriet Lee died at her home in this city (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.), Friday, June 7, 1929, in the seventieth year of her age. Her death was due to apoplexy. Mrs. Lee, whose maiden name was Harriet W. Bush, was born at Homesdale, Pa., July 27, 1859. Her parents died when she was a little girl and she went to live with an uncle, with whom she remained until she sixteen years old, when she came west to live with another uncle, George Hubbell, who then lived in Greenwood, Clark County. She also lived at the F. D. Lindsay home, Mrs. Lindsay being a cousin. There she was married to Alfred Lee of Neillsville on Sept. 15, 1883. They lived in Neillsville for a time, then at Tower, Minn., and then at Fifield, Wis., where Mr. Lee died., Aug. 19, 1898. Soon after Mrs. Lee and the children moved back to Neillsville, and this has been her home ever since. Mrs. Lee was a lady of the finest qualities of mind and heart, gentle and ladylike, helpful and considerate to all about her, she bravely faced the work and cares of life uncomplainingly. She had a firm religious faith that seemed to uphold her in her tasks and responsibilities. She was a member of the Congregational Church and for many years was one of its most faithful workers. She leaves three children: Bessie, Mrs. L. C. Woodward of Neillsville; Miss Hazel Lee, who lived here with her mother and Robert Lee of Minneapolis. She leaves also one grandson, Francis Woodward of Chicago. The funeral was held at the L. C. Woodward home Monday afternoon, Rev. G. W. Longenecker officiating.
