William H. Genteman

William H. Genteman, Jr., age 72, of Neillsville, died on Wednesday, March 3, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

William Henry Genteman, Jr. was born on April 10, 1931 in Chicago, Ill., the son of William, Sr. and Mary (Janciga) Genteman. At the age of twelve, Bill's family moved to Clark County and farmed south of Neillsville. He graduated from Neillsville High School in 1949 and then moved to Chicago, where he worked in factories. Bill was united in marriage to Louise Mayer on April 9, 1953 in Fairview. They farmed south of Neillsville until May of 1967, at which time, they moved to a farm north of Loyal and farmed until retiring in 1986. They remained on the farm until 1998, and then moved to their present home in the Town of Weston. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and was a co-founder of the Tri-County Antique Auto Club. Bill had many interests but especially loved spending time with his family, collecting and restoring antique cars; ice fishing and deer hunting.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Louise, of Neillsville; his children, David (Camille) Genteman, of Granton, Maryann (Ronn) Denzine, of Marshfield; Dan Genteman, of Neillsville, Susan (Ken) Wienke, of Marshfield, Patricia (Steve) Rindfleisch, of Spencer, Jim (Grace) Genteman, of Loyal, Betty (Mark) Yerke, of Arpin, Wayne (Diane) Genteman, of Greenwood; 22 grandchildren; two brothers, Ed (Marian) Genteman, of Neillsville and Tom (Debbie) Genteman, of Willard.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Genteman.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 6 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Loyal. Fr. Joseph Follmar officiated and burial followed in the parish cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Mark Yerke, Ken Wienke, Kurt Hediger, Brad Raymer, Steve Rindfleisch and Dennis Hauschildt.

Honorary pallbearer was John Freudigmann.
