He worked in the Granton and Heintown settlement until 1894, when he bought 40 acres of wild land in Heathville are of Fremont, Clark County. There were seven children. Marion taught the Heathville School in 1944. I served as school treasurer and lived in the Heathville District for 58 years until I sold the farm in 1954 after my husband's death in 1953. I recall there was a logging camp one mile south of our home farm where my sisters and I would walk through the woods on a logging road to take the mail to the camp. The camp was located west of the Cozy Corner School. |
