Surname: Anding, Gress, Opelt, Dersta, Lindow, Meisner, Breseman, Silke, Martin, Raether, Hagedorn, Parkins, Beer -Source: Neillsville Press (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) 30 July 1931 Anding, Mr./Mrs. Oscar (50th-Annvi. 1931) Mr and Mrs. Oscar Anding of Chili observed their golden wedding anniversary Sunday at a delightful reunion and dinner party, surrounded by their children and their families and a number of friends. Mr an Mrs. Oscar Anding were married July 24th, 1881, in Germany. Soon after they came to this country and lived at St. Louis about five years and then settled on a farm near Lynn where they lived until 11 years ago when they moved to Chili, where they still reside. They were among the early settlers, brought the land when it was all woods and with many hardships and hard work developed a nice farm. To Mr and Mrs. Anding were born nine children: Frank, now on the home farm; Richard of Altoona; Elsie, Mrs. Sherman Gress, of Neillsville; Charles and Otto of Lynn; Helen, Mrs. Harriman of Chili, and Alfred of Marshfield; one daughter, Gertrude, died at the age of 2 ½ years and a son died in infancy. Those outside the family were Mr and Mrs. Max Opelt, Jr., of Levis, Mr. Otto Dersta of St. Louis, Mrs. Jenne Gress of Minneapolis, Mr and Mrs. Emil Lindow, Mr and Mrs. Chas. Meisner all of Lynn, Mr and Mrs. Ray Lindow and family, Mr and Mrs. Philip Breseman and Mr and Mrs. Wm. Breseman of Granton, Mr and Mrs. Fred Silke of Lynn, Mr and Mrs. Martin of Lindsey, Miss Verna Raether of Eau Claire, Herman Hagedorn of Globe, Mr and Mrs. Parkins of Marshfield, Mrs. Paulina Beer of Chili. The dining room was decorated in yellow and there were many lovely flowers brought by the guests. A bountiful dinner was served and the afternoon was spent playing and singing old time hymns. They were presented with a purse of gold. Mr and Mrs. Anding have twelve grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. The guests all wished them many more happy years together. Mr. Parkins kindly donated ice cream for the occasion. |
