Source: Personal news article collection of Millie Lee LEE-FOEMMEL The home of Mr. and Mrs. August FOEMMEL, town of Fremont, was the scene of a lovely June wedding Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock when their daughter, Adeline, became the bride of Wenzel L. LEE, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest W. LEE, also of Fremont. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. E. P. Manley, pastor of Immanuel's Evangelical church, Chili. A floor length gown of white satin and a long veil held in place by a crown shaped headdress trimmed with orange blossoms, were worn by the bride who carried an arm bouquet of pink and white snapdragons and ferns. Miss Alvina FOEMMEL, a sister of the bride, attended as bridesmaid, and Robert E. LEE, brother of the groom, as best man. Miss Foemmel was attired in a floor length gown of pink silk chiffon. The groom wore a dark blue suit, and his best man wore a light gray suit. A profusion of spring flowers, pink and white crepe paper streamers, and a white wedding bell decorated the residence for the occasion. Pink and white were predominant in the table decorations, and a large pink and white wedding cake served as a centerpiece. Covers were laid for 19 at the 7 o'cock dinner. Guests included the Rev. and Mrs. E. P. Manley, Chili; Mr. and Mrs F. L. WESTFIELD (Transcriber's note: handwritten note on the side indicates that this should read F.L. SCHILLING); Mr. and Mrs. Marion LEE, Mr. and Mrs. August FOEMMEL and daughter, Violet, and son, Forrest, Mrs. Bertha SCHILLING, Mr. and Mrs. E.W. LEE, and son, Robert. Misses Frieda NEBEL and Arlene LINDOW, cousins of the bride, were waitresses. Mr. and Mrs. LEE left this morning on a five day wedding trip to the Wisconsin Dells, southern Wisconsin, and Chicago. After June 15 they will be at home to friends at the groom's farm in the town of Fremont. The bride is a graduate of the Granton high school with the class of 1933, and the groom was graduated from McKinley high school, Marshfield, in 1929. |
