BioM: Peckny, Ann (Oct .13)
Source: Personal news article collection of Millie Lee DAVIS-PECKNY An early autumn wedding took place in the Presbyterian parsonage at Crown Point, IN, at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, when Miss Ann PECKNY, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank PECKNY, town of Fremont, became the bride of Forest DAVIS, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wellie DAVIS, also of the town of Fremont. The Rev. F.H. ABKINS officiated at the nuptial service. Mr. DAVIS and his bride, who have been employed at Gary, IN, the past two years, were attended by Miss Mildred LUBCKE and William LEADY, both of Gary. The bride was attired in a wine colored silk frock, in street-length, with gold trimming; a wine colored hat, veiled; and wine slippers. Her shoulder corsage was of white gardenias. Miss LUBCKE wore a blue silk gown with wine trimming and blue accessories. Her corsage combined peach gladioli and yellow pompons. Both Mr. Davis and the best man wore boutonniers to match the bridal bouquet. After the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Davis motored to West Fremont for a brief visit with relatives. On Friday night Mr. and Mrs. Frank PECKNY entertained immediate relatives at a reception in honor of their son-in-law and daughter. The residence was decorated with fall flowers, autumn leaves, and crepe paper streamers in rainbow effect. A large wedding cake provided the table's centerpiece. Mrs. Earl BASHFORD Gary, IN, an aunt of the bridegroom, was among the out of town relatives who attended the reception and the shower, which was given for the couple Saturday night. Other guests at the reception included Mr. and Mrs. Charles KAMPIN, Mrs. Lessie DAVIS, Mr. and MRs. Wellie DAVIS and son, James, Mr. and Mrs. Joe ABERLOUSKY and family, Mr. and Mrs. Walter HOPP Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. Frank PECKNY and daughter, Jeanette. Mr. and Mrs. Davis will make their home in Gary, IN where the bridegroom is employed in the steel mills. |
