Mrs. Margaret Kelly died at her home in Neillsville early Monday morning, Sept. 21, after a long illness. Margaret O’Brien was born in Quebec, Canada, Feb. 2, 1874. She came with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin O’Brien to the town of York, Clark County, in 1881, and grew to womanhood here. In 1890 she was married to J. L. Parrett; they settled on their farm in the town of York which was their home until Mr. Parrett’s death in 1913.

In 1917 she married John Kelly and later moved to their small farm on the south side of Neillsville. Mr. Kelly died in November 1929. Mrs. Kelly was a woman of kindly disposition and had many warm friends. Her life was spent in the service of her home and those about her. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors.

She leaves six children of her first marriage: Keith Parrett of Neillsville; Nina, Mrs. Clarence Bardell of York; Gladys, Clifford, Raymond and John at home. She leaves two grandchildren: Gene Parrett and Wilbur Bardell; also four step-sons: Frank, John and Tom Kelly at home and William Kelly in California. Her aged father Martin O’Brien over 90 years of age survives her, also three brothers, Tom in Minneapolis, Martin in Rockford, Ill., and William in Neillsville; and one sister, Mrs. John Krejci of Neillsville.

The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at 1 o’clock at the home and 2 o’clock at the Congregational Church, Rev. G. W. Longenecker officiating.

The pall bears were Geo. Reindel, Oscar Northup, Frank Kubat, Melchior Hoesly, James Paulus and Ed. Northup.
