Obit: King, Ernest (1859 - 1931)
Surname: King, French, Fletcher, Blakesly, Goss, Coleman, Maurer, Altemus, Oldham Source: Neillsville Press (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) 31 Dec. 1931 ----King, Ernest (1859* - 29 Nov. 1931) * Could be off Mrs. Robert French last week received a letter from Mrs. Florence King Fletcher of Simms, Mont., stating that her oldest brother, Ernest W. King, had died at Yerington, Nev., Nov. 29, following a stroke. Mr. King, who was about 70 years old at the time of his death, is remembered by many people in this community, having been brought up on the farm just east of the fairgrounds, the son of Mr and Mrs. John King. Mr. King as a young man ran the engine in the George Blakesly mill on the Cunningham, later going to Anoka, Minn., where he and Frank Goss were partners in a machine shop. Mr. King was married at Anoka to Miss Eleanor Coleman, three daughters and one son being born to them. The son was drowned a short time before he was to graduate from high school. From Anoka Mr. King went west, engaging in various enterprises, including mining. At the time his death he was secretary of the Chamber of Commerce at Yerington. He enjoyed a wide friendship, possessing a jovial nature that attracted all who made his acquaintance. He is survived by his widow and three daughters; four sisters, Mrs. Bessie Maurer, Mrs. Elsie Altemus, Mrs. Florence Fletcher and Mrs. Myra Oldhman, and one brother, Herschel.
